Wanna know more about the awesome place I worked for? Here is short video of Blessing the Children International with interviews with the principal and the national director. Enjoy!
Here is an update with Meron, actually Blessing The Children posted this photo and Meron’s face is looking beautiful! This is actually a photo of her I took the day I left Ethiopia…as you can see she is ALWAYS smiling!!
Dear Ethiopia, this is Merron. (Everyone say “Hi” to Merron). She is 8 years old and one of the cutest & sweetest thing ever!! And has an amazing story. To start her mom used to work in a brothel where she unfortunately contracted HIV. Shortly after she had an encounter with the Holy Spirit and left that lifestyle. But due to her mother'a condition she couldn’t take care of Merron and left her with a neighbor. Well the neighbor treated her extremely badly. Making Merron sleep on the floor, treating her like an animal unlike the rest of the children in the house. Sooo all week we have been preparing a house (built a bed, painted, prepared a kitchen) that has been paid for, for the next two years and the surprised was reveal on Friday. Unfortunately on sat Merron’s guardian purposely burned her face on Friday. Today we took her to the clinic to be examined but she is still all smiles and giggly. She sung Mezmurs the entire way back! now that the house is prepared Merron can finally live safely in the care of her mother! #butGod #ethiopia #Jesus (This post was made while I was in Ethiopia). After we got back from the clinic, we picked out an outfit for her from the donation bag! She absolutely loved her lil skirt and purple shirt. Special thanks to Taryn J. & Nazaret, Dear Ethiopia’s Young Donars (:
Later I will be posting a video of Merron singing on the way to clinic & an update on her face right before I left :). God truly does heal. |
