Proverbs 31:8-9

Dear Ethiopia

IT ALL STARTED WITH A LIL PRAYER

Selam Selam!
Dear Ethiopia is about awakening the God's given purpose, particularly in Ethiopia. It started as a simple prayer in high school, then some journal entries, and finally my trips to Ethiopia that have forever changed my life
. Originally it located at DearEthiopia.Tumblr.com, it has now been blessed with its own domain . Within the past few trips we've been able to donate well over 200 lbs of clothes, toiletries, books, toys, diapers, to the streets of Debre Zeyit, and Addis Ababa. Yet this is only the beginning! We have also started an After School Program for vulnerable girls who have been living the brothels. Please read more about our mission and goals on the About section. Thank you all for your continuous support.

Through several blog post, videos, photos, surveys and documentaries, I've been able to showcase what God is doing through Dear Ethiopia! I'd like to take the time to thank *everyone* who has helped us as without your donations, prayers, advice and support I wouldn't have been able to serve in the capacity that I am serving today! Please check out our NEWEST program we have launched Dear Ethiopia After School Program in 2017 by clicking HERE, and our latest photo project #CareFreeBlackGirls by clicking HERE. Both of these projects support girls who are exposed to high vulnerabilities of human trafficking. If you like to donate, please click the donations tab at the top, or if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

THE BEHIND THE SCENES OF DEAR ETHIOPIA

Hi I am Camille! I am also known as "Kemila", "Cami", "Joy" or "Mille Mille"! I am the founder, photographer, producer, editor and author of Dear Ethiopia (: I am a 26 year old Pre-Law alumna of The Ohio State University where I completed my thesis. I am currently studying for the LSAT to pursue my J.D somewhere with no snowy winters. My dream is to become a lawyer and then a televised Judge.
My thesis was conducted in Ethiopia on women coming out of prostitution. If you like to know more about that thesis or about me, just click the sections at the top of the page. I am also working on building a team which you are able to meet in the about tab as well. God bless.
MEET THE TEAM

BEAUTIFUL BENEFICIARIES

Here are some of the beautiful beneficiaries of Dear Ethiopia. I've passed out random donations to families on the streets, donated to schools, low-income based programs service projects, and provided ongoing monthly support.
Thank you again for all your support!
Ethiopian Girl Fikir in Ethiopia

FIKIR

This little ball of fire received clothes on my very first visit and wanted a photoshoot in her new clothes(: .  She is dare devil and loves a nice thrill!  She also enjoys going to the park and hanging with friends. Unfortunately her mother has passed and she was raised by her aging grandmother, but she ended up passing as well. We tried to lighten the burden in 2014 as well as following up in 2015 and 2017. She is apart of our After School Program but often as difficulties due to her living circumstances.

WEYNSHET & YOHANNES

These two were apart of The Ellilta Women's At Risk program in the summer of 2015. So we were able to  survey, and track her progression for over three months as well provide donation for her and her children. Weynshet has 4 children, 3 were adopted with Yohannes being the youngest in her care. Yohannes is the sweetest, and cutest little boy you could  ever meet.
Ethiopian Baby girl Berhane in Debre Zeyit

BERHANE

This adorable little beaut received diapers and clothes donated from some of our sponsors in the summer of 2015. Her mother was one of The Ellilta Women as well and received clothes upon doing her pre-survey for our thesis research. They were also receiving monthly supplement for a year and was hired to work at a local coffee shop and restaurant. Once they were on their feet they were able to self sufficient.

FREHIWOT (ENAT)

The lovely Frehiwot (Ennat)! She is the eldest of three siblings, super helpful and mothering. She received her first donation in 2014 as well as her family and expecting mother (our youngest recipient). She also has a wonderful voice, and just as powerful of a testimony.
In 2017 her and her family received generous donation of clothes, food and toys. Ennat also was given a few one time job opportunities,  & well compensated.
